General Position Summary
The Program Management Director is a highly visible, strategic position responsible for managing all aspects of the product development process that drive organic growth. The Director provides leadership to the Program Management Organization (PMO) and is responsible for the overall performance of programs and execution of the business plan for already captured programs as well as future opportunities. The Director promotes adherence to global program management philosophies and strategies across the enterprise including, but not limited to, risk management, requirements management, and lean principles. The Director has significant influence and provides direction and leadership to the Program/Project Managers and Project Coordinator direct report and other enterprise-wide functions, as appropriate, to meet business objectives.
Essential Job Functions
- Accountable for resource planning, budgeting, monitoring, and control of the PMO, as applicable, and for programs
- Ensure program profitability through cost and pricing management while attaining overall program objectives
- Identify, incorporate and support project management best practices
Establish continuous improvement culture utilizing Six Sigma/Lean methodologies to improve tools, systems and business processes
Staff, train, coach, and develop a direct (typically program managers or other professionals) and indirect team utilizing leadership principles
Provide input for new business planning by providing long, mid-, and short-term project forecasting support, including all major program revenue and cost projections
Define and implement the infrastructure to monitor performance through reporting and timely reviews with stakeholders
Create and effectively communicate a vision and strategy for an assigned team in alignment with company goal
Establish strong, cross-functional and cross-business relationships that encourage horizontal thinking and collaboration
- Accountable for defining and achieving all aspects of program(s) launch and sustainability including, but not limited to:
- Value stream development
- Achievement of P&L targets
- On-time delivery of fully validated solutions to customer commitments
- Early supplier involvement and supply chain readiness (internal and external)
- Full-process capability
- Manage customer and program associated risks including prioritization, escalation and resolution of identified risks

Ability to travel both domestically and internationally, as required
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree required; program management or technical field preferred
- Master’s degree in a technical field or Master of Business Administration highly desired
PMP certification or equivalent professional certificate in project management (if undergraduate degree is in field other than Project Management)
